On Friday 28 June 2024, we celebrated the Presidential Induction of Stephné Botha of the Rotary Club of Worcester. Although this marks President Stephné’s second term in this esteemed role, the evening was more than a mere ceremony. It was a time to reflect on the past Rotary year’s remarkable achievements and projects, and to introduce the new Directors for the upcoming year.

The event, held at the Cumberland Hotel in Worcester, was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including District Governor Elect Stephen Young and District Governor Nominee Pam Rawbone. We were also honored to have Rotary Club of Swellendam’s President Jacques du Preez and President Elect Paul Coetzee in attendance. The presence of the Rotary club of Worcester’s Past Presidents made the evening even more memorable. Chairman from Worcester Round Table 68, Werner Janse van Rensburg and Worcester Lions Chairman Gavin Phillips further highlighted the collaborative spirit of the evening.

A significant part of the event was dedicated to recognizing the dedication of Rotarians. Awards were given for 100% attendance, and the recipients were Rotarian Marcelle van Speyk, Rotarian André Pretorius, Rotarian Juanita Wilkinson, Past President Jeanette Meiring, Past President Trevor Pigg, Rotarian Heloise Beukes, Rotarian Leonie Pelteret, Rotarian Pieter Eloff, Rotarian Eugene Herbst, Rotarian Anita Venter and Rotarian Niekie Draper. Past President David Reade was honored as Rotarian of the Year, celebrating his unwavering commitment to the club’s mission and values.

The evening was eventful and inspiring, filled with camaraderie and a shared vision for the future. We extend our best wishes to President Stephné Botha for a successful and impactful term.
