The 7th of February marked another unforgettable evening for our Rotary family as we gathered for our much-anticipated Annual Potjiekos Competition. This year, we turned up the heat with a fun and unexpected twist—a role reversal theme! Each Rotarian arrived dressed as their respective partner (and vice versa), bringing laughter and lighthearted mischief to the event.
Divided into two teams—Men vs. Women, but with reversed roles—each group set out to prove their culinary prowess. As always, the competition was fierce, but the camaraderie and good spirit made for an evening filled with joy and togetherness.
Our esteemed judges, Mariaan and Anthony Nielsen, had the difficult task of tasting and assessing the delicious pots simmering away. After much deliberation, the results were in:
🏆 Best Pot – Awarded to the Men (who were actually the women)! Their dish stood out with rich flavors and expert execution, winning over the judges’ palates.
🎭 Overall Winner (Theme & Spirit) – The Women (who were actually the men) took home this title, fully embracing the role reversal theme and bringing boundless energy, creativity, and humor to the event.
A huge congratulations to all participants for making this year’s competition one for the books! The laughter, teamwork, and, of course, the delicious food made it a night to remember.
Until next year—keep those potjie pots simmering and the Rotary spirit alive! 🔥🍲
