On 27 September, the Rotary Club of Worcester proudly joined in the excitement at the local Dodgeball Tournament — an energetic and laughter-filled event organised by the Worcester Ladies Circle 38. The tournament brought together enthusiastic teams from across Worcester for a day of friendly competition, good sportsmanship, and plenty of fun, all in support of fundraising for those less privileged in our community.

From the very first whistle, the atmosphere was electric! Spectators cheered, teams strategised, and the occasional dramatic dive across the court had everyone laughing. The event created the perfect balance between playful rivalry and community spirit — showing once again that when Worcester comes together, we do it with enthusiasm and heart.

Dodgeball, known for its fast-paced action and teamwork, proved to be the perfect sport to capture the spirit of cooperation and quick thinking that defines community service. Every throw, dodge, and cheer reminded us of the power of connection, collaboration, and shared purpose — much like the work our service organisations do year-round.

The day was a huge success, with fantastic participation and wonderful support from local groups and businesses. The Worcester Ladies Circle 38 has announced that the Dodgeball Tournament will now become an annual event, ensuring that this blend of sport and service continues to grow each year.

The Rotary Club of Worcester was thrilled to take part in this fun-filled initiative and commends the Ladies Circle for their creativity and commitment to uplifting our community. We look forward to next year’s tournament and to seeing even more teams join in the fun — all in the spirit of giving back while having a ball!
