On 3 November, the Rotary Club of Worcester celebrated a remarkable milestone — our 79th birthday! The day began with soul food and fellowship at Every Nation Worcester Church as part of the annual President’s Church, where members shared laughter, stories, and the warmth that has always defined our club. It was the perfect way to set the tone for a day dedicated to connection, joy, and reflection on nearly eight decades of service.
From there, we journeyed to the serene and picturesque “Orleans” farm in Rawsonville, surrounded by lush greenery and open skies. Members spent the afternoon braai’ing, playing games, swimming, and simply relaxing under the trees. The food was incredible, the braai masters outdid themselves, and the laughter that filled the air reminded everyone why Rotary is more than just a service club — it’s a family built on camaraderie, friendship, and shared purpose.
Over the years, the Rotary Club of Worcester has brought together business, professional, and community leaders who believe in the power of working together to make a difference. Whether it’s through local projects, international initiatives, or simply supporting one another, our members embody the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.”
Rotary is part of a global network of over 1.4 million people in more than 200 countries, all united by a shared mission to create lasting change in communities, across the globe, and within themselves. Our club has proudly contributed to this mission for 79 years, fostering not only meaningful impact but also lifelong friendships and experiences that inspire us to keep giving back.
This birthday celebration was a wonderful reminder that Rotary is about more than service — it’s about people, relationships, and the joy of working together toward a greater purpose. Here’s to many more years of fellowship, giving, and growth, stronger, closer, and more committed than ever to uplifting our community.
