WE SEE YOU. YOU ARE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.
Those were the words the Rotary Club of Worcester wanted every woman in our community to hear this Women’s Day.
On 10 August, while much of the country enjoyed the public holiday, our Rotarians headed to Mountain Mill Mall with a simple mission: to spread a little appreciation, a little sweetness and, quite unexpectedly, a LOT of laughter!
Members of the Rotary Club of Worcester handed out sweet treats to as many ladies as possible, accompanied by a heartfelt message of recognition:
WE SEE YOU AND YOU ARE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.
Because sometimes people simply need to know that someone notices them. That their contribution matters. That the countless things they do, often without recognition, have not gone unseen.
But our Women’s Day outreach came with a very special twist…
TWO DINOSAURS IN THE MALL!
Our very own Rotarian in Training and Rt Pieter Eloff donned inflatable dinosaur costumes and took to the mall, bringing laughter, surprise and more than a few delighted reactions from shoppers!
Let’s just say that the Rotary Club of Worcester’s commitment to community spirit took a rather prehistoric turn.
The dinosaurs quickly became the stars of the show, with patrons thoroughly enjoying the unexpected spectacle. And while there may have been some very serious dinosaur business taking place, the real purpose was wonderfully simple: make people smile.
The day captured something that is at the heart of the Rotary Club of Worcester.
Yes, we work hard.
Yes, we serve.
Yes, we get involved in our community.
But we also believe in fellowship, friendship, laughter and having fun together. Rotary is about people, and people need joy just as much as they need service.
Our club has become known for having amazing spirit, and days like this show exactly why.
We don’t just want to be a club that people see doing good work. We want to be a club that people feel in their community.
A club that arrives with helping hands, open hearts, sweeties in its pockets…and occasionally, two enormous inflatable dinosaurs.
To every woman who received a sweet, a smile or simply heard those three little words:
WE SEE YOU.
We hope you know that you are appreciated.
And to our wonderfully enthusiastic Rotarians who were willing to put on dinosaur costumes and run around a shopping mall in the name of community spirit…
