The final day of the District 9350 Conference was a beautiful blend of honour, inspiration, and celebration — a fitting close to an unforgettable weekend in Worcester.
The day began with a moving Flag Ceremony, followed by the lighting of the Peace Candle, and a poignant In Memoriam moment to honour Rotarians we’ve lost — reminding us of the deeper meaning behind our service and connection.
We were introduced to RIPPR Randell Barclay, who brought words of encouragement and insight from Rotary International. His presence added significance to the day’s events and discussions.

A strong lineup of speakers took us on an inspiring journey:
- 🌀 Carol Millar helped us navigate coping with catastrophe — a timely and powerful session.
- 💡 Dianne Barclay offered a different view on the Rotary Foundation and the End Polio Now campaign.
- 🕶️ Stephné Botha and Joseph Matheatau from Innovation for the Blind shared their ground-breaking work in Worcester.
- 🎓 Arnold van Zyl gave us a visionary look at the future of education in South Africa.
- 💼 Anton Lubbe spoke on community economic development — a call to action for sustainable change.
- 🤝 Herman Smit reminded us that partnerships are key through his session on community action collaboration.
- 🌍 Valerie Wafer emphasized inclusion as the heart of future membership growth.
Throughout the day, the energy remained high with the Roll Call of Clubs, Awards presentations, Resolutions, and an exciting Youth Exchange showcase — a reminder of Rotary’s commitment to the next generation.
One of the most special moments was the induction of DG Pam and DRRE Chadwin. A symbolic passing of the torch, full of hope for the year ahead.
We also got a first glimpse into the future with a look ahead to DisCon 2026 — and the excitement is already building!

A Night to Remember 🎉
To close off this powerful weekend, we gathered at the Cumberland Hotel for an unforgettable gala dinner. True to form, the Rotary Club of Worcester pulled out all the stops. The venue was stunning, the food was incredible, and the dance floor? Packed from start to finish.
🎩 We were even treated to a magician — a perfect nod to this year’s theme, “The Magic of Rotary.”
It was a night filled with celebration, laughter, and reflection — the perfect end to an inspiring conference.
